![]() We’ve agreed on two key points: One, we have more MCC work to do and support will continue and two, as a studio it’s not ideal to run and continue shipping seasonal updates for two different multiplayer titles concurrently. I think the good news still outweighs the bad, but it's still a shame. As we think about the future, we’ve had a lot of conversations around how to best support MCC once Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer is up and running. Given the fact that Microsoft has been releasing cross-buy games for a while now, this is definitely a bummer. If you already own the collection on Xbox One you'll still need to purchase it on PC. In any case, finally PC gamers will have access to almost the entire Halo library, and that's very cool indeed. (Honestly I'm a bit surprised they didn't go with the Epic Games Store both for the better cut and to stick it to Valve.) Kudos to Microsoft for releasing The Master Chief Collection on both platforms rather than just Windows Store. ![]() It's just better all around, and that certainly applies to the multiplayer elements of the Halo series. And it's more full-featured and less restrictive. It's where many gamers have the most online friends. That may not sound like such a huge deal, but for myself and many other PC gamers Steam is simply a much better gaming hub. The second piece of good news is that The Master Chief Collection won't just be releasing on the Windows Store. Halo: Reach is coming to Xbox One and PC.
